Reviewers often had praise for the remodeled rooms with their wood-effect flooring, colorful decor and modern facilities like flat-screen TVs. However, a few critics thought some of the rooms were cramped. There was also praise for the outdoor swimming pool and gardens that were reportedly pleasant and well-maintained. Light sleepers claimed some rooms suffered from noisy air-conditioning units or were exposed to traffic noise from highway I-35 which passed along one side of the property.
