Montfort Cottage has an excellent reputation for delivering good customer service. Almost without fail the reviews say that the owners of Montfort Cottage are excellent hosts. They are described as friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, and perhaps most importantly the owners don’t forget the names of their guests!
Breakfast goes down a storm at Montfort Cottage. Guests love the home-cooked breakfasts, with many commenting on how tasty they are. The choice of breakfast is large, with a standard cooked breakfast being accompanied by a vegetarian option, fish dishes, and of course a Continental breakfast.
On the whole, the facilities at Montfort Cottage are reported to be comfortable and help make for a more relaxing stay. Guests describe the accommodation as clean, and they like the fact there is a lounge area to retreat to as well.
Though not considered a major issue, some guests have suggested that Montfort Cottage is not as close to Windermere town centre as they would have liked. Also, the walk back from town is up a steep hill, which might not suit guests with mobility problems.
Though Montfort Cottage is well regarded for its comfort, as already noted, some guests have suggested that the walls are not as well sound-proofed as they could be. Noise that is generated by other guests can sometimes be heard, and this has been an issue for some.
