Hotel Monopol Tenerife is a family run three star hotel in Puerto de a Cruz on the popular Spanish island of Tenerife. Guests are able to choose from a single, double or triple room all of which feature bath, shower, WC, hairdryer, ceiling fan, satellite television, telephone and safety deposit box. The hotel is in the centre of the town and there are many charming bars and restaurants nearby. The beach is within easy walking distance and it is also easy to get to the Botanical Gardens and Loro Parque with its array of animals.
The hotel has a warm Spanish ambience and its character has been mentioned by previous guests. Many really enjoyed its quirky nature and the sense of history that you get from the old colonial style.
The staff have been praised for being very helpful and for making you feel really welcome. Some guests mentioned that they went out of their way to ensure that they were okay after a fall furthermore others have added that they liked the little touches such as scattering fresh flowers on the entrance steps each morning.
The décor is starting to look a little tatty and dated in some areas and the carpets in the communal areas in particular need to be replaced because they look worn and dirty.
In comparison to other places locally the drinks prices are quite expensive, but there are plenty of bars in the area for guests to visit and enjoy a drink.
The lack of toiletries has been bemoaned by some guests who felt that there could have been more provided rather than only a couple of small bars of soap and a soap dispenser in the shower.
