Guests had plenty of choice when it came to leisure activities which included swimming in the indoor- pool or having a game of tennis in the on-site sports hall. Those travelling with children were pleased to find they could hire bikes and have a ride across the hotel’s extensive grounds.

The countryside setting suited those who came here to unwind and get away from the hustle and bustle. Many guests enjoyed spending time in the gardens which feature a pond with ducks roaming freely and making a big impression on the younger visitors.

The rooms have been described as comfortable, clean with all the necessary amenities. Guests were also impressed with the size of their rooms and had lots of space to put away their belongings. The bathrooms were also said to be equally large and equipped with modern fixtures and fittings.

Guests who stayed in the self-catering cottages complained about the overall decor stating that it was in need of modernisation. Many objected to damp patches on the walls and the musty smell of the rooms. The furniture was described as quite old-fashioned and tatty whilst some guests also objected to the rather tired looking and basic bathrooms.

Although the hotel has a restaurant and a bistro there is nowhere where guests can sit and relax with a few drinks or just read their papers. Many objected to having to retire to their rooms after dinner as there was no communal lounge for the guests to use.

Guests complained about not being able to connect to the internet from their rooms and said that they could only catch the Wi-Fi signal near the hotel’s reception area.
