The Hotel Monastery hotel is a unique hotel within the Strahov Hotel Monastery next to Prague Castle with stunning views across Prague. Take a walk towards old town leading towards the Charles Bridge which is a ten minute walk away. The Lennon Wall is also only seven minutes on foot.
The Monastery has one of the most famous vantage points to take a panoramic shot of Prague and many guests chose the hotel because of its location, which did not disappoint and this featured across reviews as the highlight of guests stay.
The hotel is practically in the castle grounds and whilst bustling with tourists during the day who were walking back through lessor town to old town, it is a quiet haven at night with local restaurants and bars filled with locals. It was this quaint, local and quiet atmosphere that featured in comments across a few reviews.
The breakfast served by the hotel was a hit with guests who commented that the fresh produce, quality and selection of food was excellent providing much needed fuel for a full day exploring Prague.
A number of guests were not at all happy that the hotel did not have air-conditioning and complained in summer that the heat was stifling which disrupted their stay and sleep. Other guests were not happy that there was no elevator, which for people with mobility issues made it difficult to move in and around the hotel.
A number of previous guests fell foul of the hotel reservation system, where on arrival despite booking months or weeks in advance and in some cases pre-paying found that there was no room available and that they would be moved to another hotel.
Some reviewers highlighted that where they stayed and the room that they were allocated looked nothing like the hotels pictures on their Website and the rooms were in fact very small and cramped despite the spacious rooms that they were expecting.
