The Moat House is a family run four star hotel with a history going back hundreds of years, where guests receive a warm and attentive welcome. There is a choice from 41 well appointed non-smoking bedrooms, most of which are air conditioned and all of which offer private bathrooms with hair dryer, complimentary Wi-Fi Internet connectivity, direct dial telephone and tea/coffee making facilities. The Moat House is a non-smoking establishment throughout and is able to offer romantic short breaks in this relaxing environment; it also has the facilities to provide ideal conference and banqueting venues for up to 200 delegates or guests. Breakfast is served in the elegant Orangery Restaurant which also provides an ideal location for diners to enjoy the freshly prepared gourmet offerings together with wines from the quality list. The National Memorial Aboretum, Alrewas, is about half an hour's drive away.

There was no Wi-Fi available in the room, but more seriously there was a complete lack of hot water in the shower.
A guest was disappointed and surprised that the dress code in the restaurant was not adhered to, and not happy that electronic cigarettes were allowed, especially in the restaurant. Another guest found that the bed was acceptable but not the most comfortable they had experienced.
