Hotel Miramar Singapore (Singapore, Singapore)

The pool terrace may have been guests' favourite feature of the hotel. They described the setting as lovely and lush, and of course also enjoyed the pool itself, especially after a long hot day in the city.

While not quite described as perfect, most guests did like the location of the Miramar, saying it was close enough to the downtown core and Clarke Quay to comfortably walk there. Also mentioned was the location on the canal, which many found quite pleasant.

A surprising number of guests mentioned the courtesy shower room as a big plus. They liked the fact that they could check out, store their luggage at reception, and when coming back later in the day to pick it up could also have a quick shower.

This was perhaps the most common complaint. Guests really didn't seem to think much of the room décor. They described it as very dated and in desperate need of a full makeover.

Guests who mentioned value for money were pretty much unanimous in saying that, at Miramar, it was poor. They felt that their room-rate was very high, and that there really was nothing at the hotel to justify those rates.

A surprising number of guests reported that their non-smoking room smelled distinctly of cigarette smoke, and intimated that the hotel does not police its no-smoking policy. Some could change rooms, but this might not always be possible. Asthmatics and others who simply dislike the smell of smoke should take note.
