There’s a nice warm welcome and on occasions when you need food after the kitchen has closed, just give a bit or warning + they’ll prepare something for you to eat in your room.

An attractive bonus is the view from some rooms over the club’s bowling green. Very pleasant and peaceful.

Folk come to Birmingham for all sorts of reasons; shopping, nights out, sporting events etc; and are faced with high priced hotel accommodation and a frustrating time trying to park the car. Here, the city is easy to get to but accommodation is much, much cheaper. The car park is very basic but, come on! It is a free area to park the car.

You can suffer from the noise, particularly in rooms nearest to the club area itself. There doesn’t seem to be any sound insulation between the rooms either, so inconsiderate fellow guests can be a pain too. Club activity, deliveries etc; tend to start at about 5.30 am!

There are mutterings of discontent from some folk who don’t have tea and coffee facilities in their rooms. It seems that some do and some don’t. Needs sorting really so that all rooms include this quite basic requirement. Rooms are at ground floor level but lack of a ramp for occasional steps and no wheelchair provision in the room, are still obstacles for disabled visitors.

Soap isn’t supplied – or it got missed - and there’s only 1 towel for a double room; stretching it a bit! As an additional note; access to the rooms is through the busy bar area and whilst breakfast is a reasonably priced, it isn’t included in the tariff.
