Conveniently situated right off the I-77, Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Rock Hill – Charlotte Area offers comfortable chain hotel style accommodation. While the rooms are a little old fashioned, they are nonetheless very well equipped. Aside from the usually practical amenities, they have both microwaves and mini-fridges, so guests will be able to enjoy a wide range of snacks and drinks. Business guests will really appreciate having the use of both the dedicated business center and the meeting rooms. Those who have been on the road for a bit too long will find a guest laundry were they can get their wardrobe clean and fresh again. A simple continental breakfast is available every morning. There are a couple of chain restaurants in the area for the other two meals, including an Outback Steakhouse and a Waffle House. Downtown Charlotte is approximately 20 miles to the north.
Guests were clearly very happy with the rooms they occupied. While guests often mentioned that they were compact, they always seemed to go on to add that they were perfectly designed, and that the room had all the furniture and amenities they could possibly need.
Guest after guest mentioned that the bed in their room was one of the most comfortable they had slept in recently. Considering the very small number of complaints, it’s reasonable to conclude that the hotel has selected a mattress that has genuinely broad appeal.
It was very hard to find anything other than praise for the housekeeping staff. Guests said that their room was very clean on check-in and that it tended to remain in tip top shape during the course of their stay.
Going through the reviews, the complaints about the breakfast just kept coming. It was relentless. The two main problems seemed to be that there was not a large enough variety of foods offered to allow guests to construct a decent breakfast and that the breakfast room itself was far too small for the number of guests accommodated.
A surprising number of guests reported that it took an age for them to get checked-in. The times mentioned were simply astonishing. Either the staff were not sure why things were taking so long, or they were not telling the guests, but it certainly caused a lot of frustration all round.
A number of guests had problems in their showers. The main ones were that the water pressure was said to be too low and that the water would often not be hot enough for a really good shower.
