If you’re just looking for a place to get your head down for the night and want to keep a tight rein on your budget, you might consider the Metro Inns Teesside. The rates are low and extras such as the continental breakfast and the daily charge for pets are reasonably priced. Free Wi-Fi and parking add extra value.
Rooms at this hotel are generally found to be in a clean condition. The beds are of an okay standard and the recent addition of a large flat-screen TV has been welcomed. Guests also appreciate being able to make a hot drink in their room.
Although there's no restaurant at this hotel, you will have access to a communal kitchen which is kitted out with crockery and utensils. There’s an Asda nearby that allows you to stock up on groceries. Plus, leaflets for local food delivery companies are provided.
If you want to use the toilet or have a bath or shower, you’ll need to access the shared bathrooms. There is some disappointment with these. Perhaps most notably, the constantly wet floors and the missing toilet seats. On the plus side, these facilities seem to be kept clean.
Given that this hotel is located within an industrial estate, you won’t find all that much to do in the nearby area. If you want to explore, you’ll need to be prepared to travel for at least a few miles.
A number of guests comment about the smell of smoke at this hotel. As smoking rooms are available, it should probably come as little surprise that the smell can permeate throughout the hotel. Also, groups of people gather around the entrance while smoking.
