Menzies Guesthouse is about a 15-minute walk from the middle of Edinburgh. Getting to the Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle is pretty easy. There are plenty of local restaurants from which to choose.

The breakfast at this hotel is vegetarian-friendly and offers a variety of items, all of which are tasty. Whether you are a meat-eater or not, you will find something to meet your tastes and you will be nicely set up for the day.

The staff here are great. They will go out of their way to ensure you have a pleasant stay at their establishment and will also happily give you advice on the best places to eat, drink and visit in the local area.

Staying online is hard.

While Menzies Guesthouse offers free Wi-Fi, the connectivity is pretty poor. Sometimes it doesn't seem to be working at all, on other occasions it drops out with frustrating regularity.

No Lift.

If your room is towards the top of the building, you may find that you have to climb some very narrow and winding stairs. This is particularly difficult if you are travelling with lots of luggage or if you have mobility issues.
