Menzeh Fes is a four-star hotel featuring a 24-hour front desk, an outdoor pool and a nightclub. The hotel is 4.8 kilometres from the Tombs of the Merenides. Each of the 114 guestrooms contains in-room climate control facilities and has its own private bathroom fitted with a bidet and stocked with free toiletries. Amenities include a plasma TV with access to satellite channels, a minibar, blackout drapes, an in-room safe and a telephone. At Menzeh Fes, guests can relax at the full-service spa, sauna and garden. The hotel features a concierge desk, a porter service, a hair salon, gift shops, a laundry service and a business centre. Halal meals and drinks are available at the two hotel restaurants and three onsite bars. The hotel is 200 metres away from Royal Golf de Fès and three and a half kilometres from Medersa Bou-Inania.
While guests seemed to have numerous issues with the hotel, many went on to add that the staff did try there best, in trying circumstances, to set things right. The manager, Yazid, was sad to be especially helpful.
While the immediate neighbourhood was said to be unattractive, some guests reported that there was a modern mall with a Carrefour, and many specialist shops, within walking distance from the hotel which they found very convenient.
It was said if your room faced a certain way you would be presented with fantastic views of Fes' famous medina, the target destination for many tourist groups.
There was not a great deal of praise for the food in general, but what bothered some the most was that it was rather repetitive, meaning one would quickly become tired of it if staying for any period of time.
Guests mentioned that the immediate neighbourhood the hotel is in looks a bit dodgy, with run down buildings and a general sense of decay. Some did not feel comfortable walking in the area.
Several guests mentioned that there are two hotels that are part of the same group that are often confused with one another - the Menzeh Fes and the Menzeh Zalagh. There was considerable unhappiness created when guests thought they were booking into one but found themselves having to stay in at the other one. It was most confusing and frustrating.
