Mas des Oliviers surveys The Queen of the Riviera, Nice, from its tranquil hillside location. With stunning views over the Mediterranean Sea and mountains, this family-run bed and breakfast makes for a soothing country escape.
Each of the four rooms offers something different. There is a suite with two rooms, a living area and a huge balcony as well as a studio with a fully equipped kitchen, sofa bed and dining area. All the rooms all have a view of the sea, the mountains and / or the gardens.
Mas des Oliviers offers Wi-Fi, a gym and a shaded terrace. There is also an outdoor pool set within a lush garden - filled with citrus and olive trees.
Breakfast is served daily and guests can prepare meals in a summer kitchen.
Within 15 minutes by car, guests can view the elegant old town or engage in people watching on the Promenade des Anglais.
The thing guests adore the most about this bed and breakfast is its incredible location. You have of course the tranquillity and, amazing views of the sea and mountains. You can breathe in the fresh country air with the fresh scent of citrus fruits and flora too. However, you are still just a short drive from the town centre of Nice.
positive:
Magnificent hospitality
The couple who own the bed and breakfast make the perfect hosts. Guests can't say enough about their hospitality and welcome or the lengths they go to to keep their guests happy.
positive:
Beautiful swimming pool
The swimming pool is the centre-piece of the bed and breakfast. Guests love taking a dip in the middle of the garden, surrounded by citrus and olive trees. It is also a lovely place to sit out in and perhaps enjoy a meal cooked on the barbecue or in the summer kitchen.
Negative Reviews
negative:
A bit isolated
Finding the house at the top of a steep hill can be tricky without any noticeable signs. If you haven't got a car it can be pretty difficult to get to or to get around as there is no public transport nearby. Guests say you need to drive a good ten to 15 minutes just to get to a restaurant.
negative:
Beds not comfortable
Guests find the mattresses can be a bit hard, giving them an uncomfortable night's sleep. The beds feel a bit old and in bad condition.
negative:
Basic breakfast
Guests often find the breakfast to be quite poor and basic. Considering the very high rates they pay to stay here, they expect something a bit more substantial and varied. If you stay a few nights it can get a bit repetitive to say the least.
