Hotel La Torretta Lake Resort & Spa offers accommodation in three different environments for travellers looking to enjoy a spot of golf, indulge in spa treatments, or simply relax around Lake Conroe. Guests can choose between suites in the main tower building, some with lake views, one or two bedroom cottages by the championship golf course, or villas on the shore of the lake. Each is equipped with a living area with sofa and flat-screen television, as well as air conditioning and mini fridge. Hotel La Torretta Lake Resort & Spa hosts an Aqua Park with water slides, a lazy river and five swimming pools. There is also a hot tub, gym and tennis courts, as well as a private lagoon with paddles and kayaks for hire. There are also no less than eight bars, lounges and restaurants spread around the site – overlooking the lake, pool or golf course. The hotel is roughly ten minutes' drive from Montgomery and under 30 minutes’ drive from Lewis Park.
Given that the hotel is a high rise property, most of the rooms have fantastic views out over Lake Conroe. Guests clearly loved the bird’s eye views, which were perhaps the reason many booked at this particular property.
A number of guests commented that the hotel had so many leisure amenities that even in large and extended families, all members would be able to find things that they enjoyed doing, from the spa to the pool to the nearby golf course.
Whatever other small problems guests may have had with their rooms, their size certainly wasn’t one of them. Even guests staying in the standard rooms felt that they were incredibly spacious, with more than enough room for all those booked in.
An unusually large number of guests reported problems with their bills on check-out. Of course under-billing is unlikely to be reported, but there were several guests who insisted that they were billed for goods and services that they had nether requested or enjoyed.
Quite a number of guests felt that they didn’t quite get the sort of value for money they were expecting. While they didn’t think that the resort was terrible, they felt it didn’t quite live up to the expectations created by the high room rates.
Considering that the hotel is a high rise property, guests expected the elevators to be fast and efficient. Unfortunately, a couple of guests staying at different time mentioned that some of the elevators were out of commission and that they often had to wait for an extraordinarily long time for one to arrive.
