Hotel Mövenpick Suriwongse Chiang Mai (Chiang Mai, Thailand)

This hotel has the best location in Chiang Mai according to guests, as it is situated near the night bazaar and market where guests can find everything they need. Moreover, there are restaurants, shops, taxis, and many other establishments within walking distance.

Guests were delighted that rates were cheaper than most neighbouring accommodations. Included in the room package were fairly spacious room, breakfast buffet, one dinner, plus airport transportation. This was a good buy for those on a tight budget.

The free Wi-Fi pleased previous guests. What delighted them more was the consistent strong signal all throughout their stay. It worked well inside the rooms and they did not encounter any problem with the Internet.

The property needs refurbishment because the interior already looked old and dirty according to most guests. The rooms, lift, and hallways were very dated. There was a bad odour around the place and dirty patches were seen on walls. Moreover, the carpets had stains and smell of dampness.

Bathroom in this hotel was a disappointment to guests. It was extremely small that guests could barely sit on the toilet because their knees hit the wall. There were mould on tiles, no hooks where clothes can be placed, and loose paint was seen on the bathtub. Furthermore, the water pressure and temperature were both inconsistent.

The breakfast was labeled as “international breakfast” but guests were dismayed that the food was very basic and had few choices. It lacked western food selections and had lots of Chinese food like noodle soup and congee.
