Breakfast is served each morning in the dining room and there is also a licensed bar where you can enjoy an evening refreshment. For lunch and dinner try The Strand Cafe just six minutes’ walk away. The Dawlish Warren National Nature Reserve is a ten minute drive from Lyme Bay House, and Dawlish Leisure Centre is a five minute drive away.

Great location close to the seafront and shops.

Lyme Bay House enjoys a very convenient location in the seaside town of Dawlish, with sea views from outside the front door and within a short walk from both the beach and the town centre.

Ian and Nikki run this place and they do an absolutely stellar job of it. They are very friendly and approachable, always happy to have a chat about things to do in the local area.

If you decide to drive to this guesthouse you'll be able to enjoy free parking in the large private car park. Due to car parking spaces being in such high demand in Dawlish this a great added extra which should not be overlooked.

Noise from the road can be heard in the rooms.

Unfortunately you can hear the traffic from the road outside in the rooms here. It is particularly bad when you open the windows for some fresh air, and only just bearable when you have them closed.

The old decor is in desperate need of updating.

This guesthouse has certainly seen better days, with the decorating and furniture being positively dated. A complete renovation would do this place the world of good and make it a much more enjoyable place to stay in.

Unfortunately the bar at Lyme Bay House has rather erratic opening hours, and is often closed if there are not that many people staying here. If you do fancy a drink in the evening make sure to let the owners know.
