The family-run Longview Hotel is set in a Victorian building in a conservation area in the Cheshire town of Knutsford. This character hotel has a roaring fire in reception and antiques and period deco dotted around. The 32 en-suite rooms are tastefully and individually decorated. There are fluffy white bathrobes and tea and coffee making facilities with biscuits to help guests feel as comfortable as possible. Free encrypted Wi-Fi through VPN is available throughout the hotel. There is also a meeting room for functions holding up to 30 people. The Longview Hotel has its own restaurant offering typical British dishes as well as curries and pizzas. There is also a cosy cellar bar. Knutsford Heath is just next to the hotel, whilst guests can walk to the National Trust estate of Tatton Park in 10 minutes. Chester and Manchester are around 45 minutes away by car or train.

Guests stay at the Longview Hotel primarily for the location. It is just a couple of minutes from the town centre of Knutsford and not far from its shops and restaurants. It also overlooks the heath which is great if you're looking for a nice place to have a walk or a run. It is highly convenient too if you're attending an event in the nearby Tatton Hall or in and around Manchester.
Guests, in general, could find little fault with the staff at the Longview Hotel. Although there were certain exceptions, most find that the reception staff and the manager were lovely and accommodating on the whole.
A lot of guests testify to the cleanliness of the establishment and the rooms in general, which are furnished to a pretty high standard.
The breakfast left a bad taste in the mouth of many guests. Not particularly for its flavour - although some found it rather uninspiring and the portions or choice a bit on the small side - but rather for its price. With the rates you have to pay for a room, a lot of guests consider that the hotel could quite easily include it in the price!
Although guests expect some traffic noise in a town centre hotel, the noise from the main road still disturbed many of them. Add to that the fact that there is a flight-path from a local airport directly overhead and it can get too much for some.
There are a wide variety of rooms at the hotel of different sizes. Still there seems to be at least some that are on the small side - ridiculously so for some, particularly with the tariffs the hotel are charging. Some guests find the soft beds not to their satisfaction either.
