Hotel Locanda Armizo (Venice, Italy)

Guests found the Venetian decor in this guesthouse to be charming, and the simple, generally spacious rooms proved to be a decent base for city exploring.

The location of Locanda Armizo, almost on the Grand Canal and just minutes from the Rialto Bridge, was found to be very handy for accessing the city’s main tourist sites, but not too busy with tourists, and had restaurants close by.

Those who stayed generally found the morning staff service to be kind and helpful, especially with the nice touch of continental breakfast of croissant, bread roll with jams, cappuccino and juice being served in the bedroom. However, while many appreciated this, others found the breakfast much too simple for their tastes.

Some guests found Locanda Armizo a little hard to find, since it is down a little alley off a square, and has limited signage, so make sure to pay close attention to directions.

Of those who stayed in first floor rooms, issues such as weak Wi-Fi, the size of rooms and bathrooms and also some external noise were reported, so if any of these are deal-breakers, make sure to book a room higher up.

Many guests were surprised and a little bit concerned to find that no staff members were actually on site for check-in, and instead, they would have to check in by Skyping the owners from a computer just inside the guesthouse. Apart from the morning staff member, who would leave after breakfast and cleaning, people said no other staff members were on site and the lack of staff to help with requests, and reportedly poor service via Skype when problems were encountered, left some unsatisfied.
