The hotel is tucked away in the Yorkshire countryside, surrounded by fields and numerous nature trails. Guests appreciated the idyllic country setting and said that the only noise they could hear was from the resident chickens and nearby sheep. Many appreciated the wonderful views from their rooms as well as the fresh countryside air.
Guests were very complimentary about the decor of their rooms which was described as elegant with four-poster beds and quality linens and upholstery. The bathrooms were also said to be well-presented with up-to-date fixtures and branded toiletries. Little extras such as complimentary bottles of water and sherry were also greatly appreciated.
Many complimented the quality of breakfasts on offer at the guest house stating that they were well prepared and made from locally sourced ingredients. Guests could choose from the full English breakfasts or the continental buffet which was said to feature a variety of cereals, fresh fruit and yoghurts. If you like to start you day with a hearty breakfast then you certainly won't be disappointed.
Quite a few guests mentioned that they experienced difficulties driving down the bumpy track leading to the guest house especially those who reached the premises when it was dark. Lack of signage also proved a problem for arriving guests.
There are no pubs, shops or restaurants within walking distance and some gusts found it quite cumbersome having to drive down the bumpy track in order to reach the nearest local amenities.
Guests who stayed in the standard type room mentioned that the bathroom was quite small and that they had very little space to move around in between the shower and the sink.
