Conveniently situated, midway between the Vatican and the Spanish Steps, Le Stanze di Orazio is a boutique guest house offering elegant accommodation and a refined level of service. The five rooms have been carefully designed and have a slightly classical feel to them. But they are still equipped with all the modern conveniences you have come to expect, including flat screen TV’s and tea/coffee making facilities. Reception is on hand limited hours and can assist with laundry, luggage storage and basic concierge services. Wi-Fi is free of charge and accessible throughout the guest house. A simple sweet Italian breakfast is served in the bright breakfast room every morning, and, of course includes a delicious cappuccino. Guests at Le Stanze di Orazio are well placed when heading out to visit the city’s attractions. The Vatican, with the astounding St Peter’s Cathedral, is less than a mile to the west, while the ever popular Spanish Steps are approximately a mile to the east.
Guests really liked the location of the guest house, saying that it was more or less midway between the two areas they had come to Rome to explore. Both the Vatican, with St Peter's and the Vatican Museums, and the ancient city with the Parthenon, the Forum and other attractions were said to be within reasonable walking distance.
Considering this is one of the very small guest houses located in a building with many other businesses, a very popular concept in Italy, guests felt the check in process ran quite smoothly. Though there are no permanent staff onsite, there were no complaints about missed connections and trouble coordinating the check in. Everything was said to run smoothly.
Guests were very impressed with the staff at the guest house. They were described as very friendly, and to guest's minds genuinely cared about the well being of their guests, often going beyond the call of duty to help when guests really needed assistance.
There were a fair number of guests who complained about the Wi-Fi, with the problem usually being that it was either too slow or that guests couldn't get a signal in their particular room.
The breakfast served at the guest house is a traditional sweet Italian one, which was clearly not to everyone's taste. Some felt it was a bit sparse, and others didn't like that it contained to animal protein at all.
Some guests allocated rooms that faced the street reported that they could hear the traffic noise from down below and that this meant, at the very least, that they would have to sleep with the window closed.
