Hotel Le Sivory Punta Cana by PortBlue Boutique (Uvero Alto, Dominican Republic)

This is a relaxing, adult-only, quiet setting. There's always space available at the pool, time for a spa treatment beside the beach, or the ease to grab a bite to eat whenever you wish. The pool is perfect, and the poolside bar is delightful. Coffee, milk, fresh-squeezed juice and a few pastries are delivered to your door early daily. Three restaurants are on-site, but if that dining isn't for you, there are few nearby cafes. Some may take twenty-sixty minutes' drive. (Take note of the local taxi service; drivers usually stay nearby after disembarkment and wait to take you to the next destination. This is the norm, but can become costly.).

Absolutely charming customer service from arrival to departure. When you arrive, you're greeted with champagne and lavender-infused towels for freshening. If you've been playing tennis, someone will arrive with water and towels. If you desire a spa treatment, just name your time. Concierge will arrange drivers for you anytime. Nothing is overlooked here!

Beds are large and comfy. Some rooms have showers big enough for two with double-headed shower heads. Others have private dipping pools. Still more have fully-stocked refrigerators and wine coolers in-room. If you can get an ocean-side suite, do that. Patio areas, tropical foliage and lounge chairs are divine. The beach is clean with warm water, but the waves can get a bit strong at times. Use caution if you're unaccustomed to the ocean.

The hotel provides two types of bug spray, but you may want more. No-seeums and mosquitoes have been an annoyance for some.

It's a long, bumpy ride to/from the airport - and almost everything else. Brace yourself!
