Hotel Le Mareuil (Paris, France)

A beautifully modern and amazingly quiet location for city central Paris.  Walking distance of just a few minutes from a favourite section of Le Marais and the Oberkampf, wonderful bakeries (including the one next door - which is suspected of providing the delicious organic pastries in the hotel's breakfast buffet), supermarkets, excellent restaurants, Canal Saint-Martin, chocolate shops, Place de la Republique and two metro stations. Very clean. It's just a quick cab ride to Notre Dame and the Louvre.  The daily breakfast buffet is a delightful start to your day, featuring the softest croissants you'll taste.  They also stand by their non-smoking policy, which is a refreshing change from many other Paris establishments.

The staff are outstanding here, dazzling all with their helpful, friendly and multilingual talents.  They've achieved the 'je ne sais quoi' of assisting without intruding upon guest peace and privacy.  Very knowledgeable on the area and directions, always ready and willing to provide suggestions and support on dining, tickets, reservations and tours.

Staff will introduce you to your room and explain the workings of each feature.  These are tidy, stylish and well-equipped units with state-of-the-art amenities and gorgeous views.  High quality, luxurious bedding and wonderful air conditioning.  Rainfall shower heads provide excellent pressure and showers are substantial.  Soundproofing is outstanding and the mini-fridges and safes are convenient.  The Wi-Fi is fast and flawless, enabling everything from movie streaming to efficient downloads and even Skype meetings without delay.

Some felt the daily buffet was expensive and disliked the coffee and wounded croissants.

Hard for cab drivers to find and not walking distance to larger attractions - plan on some subway rides.

Small by some standards and housekeeping doesn't replenish all items daily unless requested.
