Guests found the staff at Lancaster House to be excellent, from friendly barmen, to very effective cleaners and experienced generally professional and attentive service from the whole team. They also found it to be family friendly and dog friendly.
The evening meals were thought to be lovely with both quality and variety being hallmarks, while the breakfasts were also found to be very good.
If you are planning to visit the University of Lancaster for graduations or other campus business, then be aware that guests have unanimously voted this the place to stay — with free parking also proving useful.
Some of those who stayed at Lancaster House found the decor to be tired and old fashioned, and the bathrooms seemed dated due to the old taps mixing hot and cold water. Nevertheless, they still seemed to prove very functional and some redecoration appears to have been going on in mid 2015.
Should it be the case that it happens to be rather hot during your visit, then the lack of air conditioning may be an issue but staff should at least be able to provide a fan.
