Staff are quite pleasing to deal with here, as they're always available for your questions, comments, or requests. They'll happily adjust schedules and ingredients whenever possible, and do what they can to keep your stay satisfactory. They're also great to talk to, to learn more about sites of interest.

Lamppost Villa is a good base for seeing Bath without a vehicle. There's plenty of leisure, entertainment, historical, and dining spots you can walk to, to absorb the local culture. Should you need to take transit, that's easily available, so you can make this a stop along your backpacking travels.

Although parking is for a fee, it's appreciated that you can secure a spot. That, combined with room accommodations that give you everything you need to get by, make for a decent stay when needed. If you have to suddenly get a room overnight, this does a sufficient job.

The inn has definitely seen better days, and the signs are quite obvious that upgrades and makeovers are needed. Faulty switches, worn out and drab colours, wall stains, mismatched furnishings, and shoddy repair work greatly disappoint.

The ensuite configuration has left the room and the bathroom space not as grand as expected or desired. The facilities are cramped, and for some, it's unfortunately easy to bump into furniture. Comfortably stretching out in bed is also a problem for some.

Breakfast sadly does not always perk guests up in the morning. The portions, presentations, and ingredients are poor, and at times, even how the food smells is off-putting.
