Those working at the bed and breakfast really go out of their way to ensure that their guests feel well looked after. They are efficient and professional. Nothing is too much trouble and their warmth adds to the welcoming atmosphere.
The breakfasts are served by engaging staff and are a wonderful, filling way to start the day. There is a great choice of food on offer and guests appreciate the use of good quality locally sourced, fresh ingredients.
The accommodation is set within the beautiful setting of the Lake District. It takes only a couple of minutes to walk to Derwent Water and a similar time to get to the town, meaning that everything required is only a few steps away. Cyclists and walkers have a wealth of routes to explore. The local bus also offers an affordable way to explore the locality.
The vast majority of reviews have nothing but praise for this accommodation. A couple of former guests felt that some of the rooms were on the small side, with taller people hitting limbs off radiators, taps and shelves in compact bathrooms. Furthermore, these smaller rooms offer little space to move around in. Some felt the rate for these rooms is overpriced.
Peak visitor season for the Lake District is when there is no parking available around this accommodation. The bed and breakfast’s parking area is limited, with no parking available from Easter until the end of October. Guests are however offered a parking permit for a local car park, five-minutes walk away, which some found a minor inconvenience.
