Hotel La Vila (Sóller, Spain)

This is a very laid back and relaxed region of Mallorca; attractive features that are reflected in the staff at the hotel. Extremely friendly and co-operative.

Breakfast choices are fab and include juice from freshly picked oranges. *Wouldn’t be surprised if the staff picked them on their way to work! Evening dining is equally attractive and enhanced by it being served in the hotel’s attractive courtyard.

Rooms are cleaned on a daily basis. They tend to be on the large side so plenty of storage space.

The Spanish tend not to include tea and coffee facilities in the hotel rooms. That’s the case here!

There are lots of attractive features here. Sadly though, elements of refurbishment are long overdue. Bedding is sub standard, air conditioning is noisy (*but at least they’ve got some!), decoration doesn’t seem to be in the vocabulary and the reception area doesn’t provide an attractive first impression.

This is in a not very nice building about 50m from the hotel. It sounds lovely but the staircase approach fills you with a dismay that continues into the penthouse itself. No minibar or Wi-Fi, plus dirty towels and en-suite. Don’t be tempted! Stick to the hotel!
