Situated in the perfect spot, just yards from Sanur Beach, Hotel La Taverna Bali Resort is an extraordinarily tranquil property offering traditional Balinese accommodation and hospitality. The rooms feature gorgeous traditional Balinese antiques, and have been designed to evoke feelings of calm and tranquillity. They also feature all the high tech amenities you may need, including flat screen TV’s and free Wi-Fi. The two star amenities at Hotel La Taverna Bali are undoubtedly it’s peaceful pool terrace and the Isola Beach Cub, where guest can lie back on a sun bed and gaze out over the Indian Ocean. La Taverna Restaurant & Bar spills out onto the beach and offers the best Italian and international cuisine. While most guests spend their time at the resort, or at the private beach club, those venturing further afield will find Lembongan Island, with it’s spectacular tropical beaches, just half and hour away by boat.
Most guests did not travel all the way to Bali to stay miles from its renowned beaches, so were very happy that their resort was situated pretty much on the beach. They liked that the beach was not only easily accessible, but they had access to the amenities of the beach club as well.
A number of guests who had clearly been coming to Bali for many years remarked that the look and feel of the property reminded them a lot of the “original” Bali, before mass tourism changed the way resorts were designed and run.
Again and again guests would mention the Balinese and stone massages that were available and were said to be both reasonably priced and a great ways to relieve stress.
The term “run down” seemed to crop up again and again it guest reviews. Many seemed to feel that the property may once have been grand, but that it had not really been well maintained. Combined with the harsh tropical climate, it seems to have resulted in a degrading of the fixtures and fittings, which guests said now urgently required renovations and updating.
Quite a few guests were alarmed with the way the hotel went about dealing with mosquitoes. It was mentioned that they regularly sprayed the property and the rooms, and some were unhappy with the type of spray used (thought to be DDT) and also the quantities used.
While most did not go into the specific reasons, a large number of guests said they were very unhappy with the breakfast at the hotel, indicting that it was clearly the worst meal offered there.
