Guests keeping in shape on the road will appreciate the beautiful indoor pool, fully equipped fitness center and spa. There is also free parking and a business center with meeting rooms. La Quinta’s signature “Bright Side Breakfast” is available every morning, and consists of cereals, muffins, pastries, fresh fruit and hot beverages. Hot items like bacon, eggs and sausage are also available. Meadows Field Airport is just a couple of minutes' drive from the hotel, and downtown Bakersfield six miles to the south.
While there were some issues with the tableware used, the food itself was mostly judged to be pretty good for a “free” breakfast. Guests felt that there was enough variety on offer so that all but the very pickiest of eaters could find something they liked.
While it is true that some guests didn't like the fact that the hotel was some way from downtown Bakersfield, it seems the majority liked the location, just a bit north of the city, since it meant they could enjoy very easy access to Highway 99.
Pet owners were clearly over the moon at the hotel's policy of warmly welcoming clean and well-behaved dogs. They didn't get the sense that their dogs were merely tolerated, but that they were actually welcomed.

A number of guests, while enjoying the actual food, were not at all impressed that the hotel used disposable items exclusively to serve it in. They considered it cheap, and a bit below the standard they expected at the hotel.
While there were also one or two compliments, most people commenting on the Wi-Fi reported that they had problems with it. It seemed the connection was unreliable, and even when a connection was established it was too slow for their purposes.
