A surprising number of guests were traveling with their dogs, and seemed to have specifically booked in here since they considered the hotel genuinely pet-friendly, rather than one which merely allows or tolerates them.
While only breakfast is available at the hotel, guests reported that there were a couple of good dining options right next door, and more still within very short driving distance. They didn't feel they needed to travel far to eat well.
It was near impossible to find a bad word written about the reception staff. On the contrary several were praised by name for being incredibly welcoming and doing their utmost to smooth over any wrinkles that arose during a guest's stay.
While there certainly were a few compliments directed at the “Bright Side Breakfast”, most seemed to feel that it was just too basic, with waffles as pretty much the only hot food available. Guests would definitely have liked to see a wider variety of foods offered.
Quite a number of guests mentioned that there is clearly a lot of work for maintenance to get started on in the rooms and public areas. Bits of ceiling falling off, walls that need a coat of paint and similar issues were raised.
While most seemed satisfied with the cleanliness, there were nevertheless still many complaints about overflowing garbage bins and corners of rooms that had not been cleaned. It seems that cleanliness standards may slip every now and then.
