Situated in a very convenient spot right off Highway-51, La Quinta Inn Wausau is a delightful property offering comfortable chain hotel accommodation with fantastic leisure amenities. The décor may be a little old fashioned, but the rooms are equipped with all the latest technology, like “Smart” TV’s with plug and play functionality and ultra-fast Wi-Fi. Each room also features work desk, telephone, coffee maker, clothes iron and alarm clock. The gorgeous indoor pool and hot tub, enclosed in their own greenhouse, are undoubtedly the star attractions, allowing guests to take a refreshing dip or soak the day’s tension away. A basic continental breakfast of waffles, cereals, bread, pastries, muffins, eggs and fresh fruit is served daily. Guests will find a couple of decent chain restaurants nearby, including a Buffalo Wild Wings and a Panera Bread. Wausau Downtown Airport is approximately four miles from the hotel.
Despite being quite close to Highway-51, a couple of guests reported that their room was a haven of peace and quiet. It may be that appropriate soundproofing has been installed, but light sleepers are still advised to ask for rooms facing away from the highway.
While it wasn’t often mentioned, since it is the sort of thing that is often taken for granted, a couple of guests said they were impressed with the Wi-Fi. They felt it was reliable and more than fast enough, but what most impressed them was that they just connected, without any complicated log in screens.
A surprising number of guests reported that they found some great restaurants very nearby. They didn’t feel they had to travel far to eat well.
