The hotel features a delightful pool and deck, the perfect spot to catch some late afternoon sunshine. There’s also a fitness center for those staying in shape on the road and free parking for all guests. A basic continental breakfast, including La Quinta’s famous waffles that guests get to make themselves, is served daily. There are several great dining option in the area, including the very highly rated Alexander’s Steakhouse, where guests have the option of cooking their own steak. Shoppers will like that the Market Place Shopping Center is right across the road. Downtown Champaign is just a mile to the south.
It seems that this property has been very recently renovated, and now features one of La Qinta's latest designs. The guests clearly liked both that they were staying in such a new room, and also the décor itself, which was described as very chic and contemporary.
The hotel is right opposite a large shopping mall, and several guests commented that they found it very convenient to just be able to stroll there and be faced with such a great variety of shopping options. Many also mentioned that they had a good choice when it came to dining in the area.
Considering the very chic and stylish design and décor, many guests felt as if they were staying in a luxury property, rather than a mid-range chain, but paying very reasonable rates. As a result, they typically felt they had received excellent value for money.
While the suites do have these amenities, unfortunately the standard rooms do not. Since they are often included in all types if rooms at other La Quinta properties, guest were expecting, or at least hoping, that they would be in their room.
While it is only a two storey building, some guests with mobility issues who had rooms on the second floor did find it to be a bit of a strain to make their way up and down the stairs multiple times a day. They would have appreciated an elevator.
Though not mentioned often, it was reported that the rooms were not all that well soundproofed, with guests being able to hear noises from the hallways and adjacent rooms.
