The rooms have simple decor and furniture, but are nonetheless very well-equipped. Each features a microwave, a minibar, and a coffee maker, so you’ll be set for snacks and drinks. There’s also a flat-screen TV with cable channels and Wi-Fi: no need to worry about being starved for entertainment or connectivity. The La Quinta Inn & Suites Oklahoma City Norman has an especially lovely pool with a pool deck and all the sunbeds you could want to relax and catch some rays on. There’s also ample free parking and a fitness center for those keeping in shape. A basic “Bright Side Breakfast” consisting of continental staples is served daily. There’s no shortage of great chain restaurants nearby, including a Red Robin and a Jason’s Deli. Downtown Oklahoma City is approximately 20 miles to the north.
Guests really seemed to like having a microwave and small fridge available. That way they could keep their cold drinks cold and prepare hot snacks to enjoy during the game or that great movie they had always been meaning to watch.
Going by guest reviews, it seems many were staying at the hotel while attending events or meetings at Oklahoma University. They descried the university as being just a short drive away and found the hotel to be in a very convenient spot for regular visits.
Whatever small problems guests had with their rooms here or there, their size certainly wasn't one of them. Guest after guest mentioned being very pleasantly surprised by how large their room was. They certainly felt they had enough space for the number of guests booked in.
While the breakfast did receive one or two compliments, the majority of guests seemed thoroughly unimpressed. They didn't feel that it offered enough choices to really be considered a proper hotel breakfast, and some also thought the breakfast room was a bit disorganized.
This may well have been the most common complaint. It was certainly the most serious. A very large number of guests said that they considered the building very run-down. Everything seemed faded, chipped or dinged, giving the impression of a building that had not been taken care of.
Far too many guests commented that they found their room to be dirty on check-in. The specific issues were numerous, but it seemed to leave them with a very bad first impression of the hotel.
