Situated within easy reach of LAX, La Mirage Inn Suites & Spa offers budget friendly motel-style accommodation ideal for a quick no hassle stopover. The rooms are fairly basic in terms of decor and furniture, but are quite spacious and have everything you’ll need to get a good night’s sleep. Each features flat screen TV with cable channels, minibar, microwave, telephone and free Wi-Fi. Some rooms have private jacuzzi baths. There is a small heated outdoor pool, ideal for lazing about or cooling off. There is ample free parking and ice machines as well. There are no on-site dining facilities, but reception staff will be happy to offer local restaurant recommendations if required. LAX is just a few minutes' drive away down the 105 Freeway. Venice Beach is about 14.5 miles from the hotel, while those attending events at the Staples Center will find it approximately 11 miles to the north.
A fair number of guests mentioned that they found the hotel to be a lot quieter than expected. Perhaps because of the proximity of the 105 Freeway many guests were expecting at least a little noise, but were pleasantly surprised by just how quiet it was.
A remarkable number of people went out of their way to comment how great the shower heads the hotel has installed were. It was unclear what exactly it is about them, but they certainly did impress a number of guests.
While guests did seem to find fault with their rooms, they were pretty much universally impressed with their size. They were said to be larger than is typical of their class of hotel room, and certainly more than big enough for the number of people booked in.
This was by far the most common, and most serious, complaint. Guest after guest mentioned that the rooms really were looking very tired, and were many years past the due date for a full refurbishment. It wasn't only a matter of aesthetics, since some mention amenities broken or working poorly as well.
Quite a number of guests were irked buy the fact that the ice machines on the property required payment in order to dispense ice. They clearly felt that it should have come as included in the room rate.
While not mentioned very often, a couple of guests pointed out that the lighting in their room was especially bad. They reckoned that very low watt LED bulbs were used and they were simply not up to the task of lighting the room, especially if they wanted to read or do detailed work.
