La Casa del Turix is a different and very well located hostel in Merida, personally attended by the owners. Very clean and nice. Spacious with old construction and decoration of the time but with modern amenities. There are 5 comfortable rooms, all with private bathroom, air conditioning, cable TV, hot and cold water. Additionally, there is WiFi, pool and garage. Suitable for any traveler, vacationer, or those on business. The house was built about 100 years ago and is typical for a wealthy family of the middle class of the time, with lots of land and gardens. The interior with original floors with many colours, has cozy and spacious rooms with antique furniture. The property in its early years belonged to several people until 1965 when the family bought Alberto's, retaining many of the furniture. The current owner inherited with all furniture and ornaments of the time, having pieces dating from 1840 or earlier perhaps. The property has been restored and the same ornaments and furniture that are still preserved in order to create "The House of Turix."
