Positive Reviews

positive:

Gorgeous colonial era building

Guests were clearly wowed by the building when first seeing it. It was described as a very beautiful and very impressive colonial era building and seemed to give guests the feeling of being a little part of history.

positive:

Excellent central position

Guests really enjoyed the location of the hotel. It is right in the centre of the city and guests mentioned that they could walk to all of the nightlife and amenities and many of the attractions they wanted. Several also commented that they felt very safe in the neighbourhood.

positive:

Availability of large rooms

Big families and groups travelling together were very impressed that the hotel had rooms that could accommodate very large parties. In some cases as many as eight people. They mentioned that it is very hard to find such rooms in the centre of Mexico City.

Negative Reviews

negative:

Street facing rooms are very loud

Guests who had been allocated rooms on the street side complained that they could get very loud. The problem seemed to be that there were a couple of bars and other nightlife venues on the street, with patrons that could get very loud. The windows did not seem to be soundproof.

negative:

No air conditioning

Given the summer heat in this part of Mexico, quite a number of guests were disappointed to find that the rooms did not feature air conditioning. The other methods used for cooling, like fans, were not regarded as sufficient on days when the heat got really bad.

negative:

Very poor showers

Guests did not like the electronic showers that had been installed. They mentioned that they only allowed for a very weak flow of hot water.
