Hotel La Campana (La Línea de la Concepción, Spain)

La Campana benefits from an excellent location, and there are bars, shops and restaurants nearby. It’s only a five to ten minute walk to Gibraltar’s border so you can spend your day in two different countries. The airport is very close by meaning you don’t have to pay for transfers.

Guests feel that they have received excellent value for money, especially compared to the expense of staying within Gibraltar itself. It is basic hostel accommodation but perfect for those travelling on a budget.

Guests have complimented the hearty breakfast they have been served, commenting on the quality of the food and how it has set them up for the day. Although there are other bars, cafes and restaurants nearby many guests have felt the breakfast was superior within La Campana.

There is very limited car parking within the area and some guests have struggled to find a space right outside. There is the option of going further afield and staff have been very helpful in finding somewhere nearby.

The accommodation is very basic, with many past guests using the term “no frills”. There have been complaints that some of the rooms smelled strongly of smoke. In addition, although there is a television in each room it mainly shows Spanish television channels.

The walls are very thin between the rooms, meaning you can even hear the television of your neighbours. This has disturbed the sleep of some guests.
