Hotel L'Auberge Carmel (Carmel-by-the-Sea, USA)

Don't miss out on the onsite restaurant, Aubergine, featuring great food and amazing wine. Meals are beautifully prepared and a work of art. Guests also appreciated the daily breakfast, saying it was delicious and satisfying.

The hotel is centrally located and convenient to shopping and dining. You can easily walk almost anywhere in town. The beach is also just half a mile away, and reachable on foot.

L'Auberge Carmel has great management and accommodating staff. Everyone is friendly and responsive to requests. Guests felt relaxed and loved the personal, but not prying, attention. Great service starts the moment you step into the lobby. Upon check-in, you'll be welcomed with complimentary sparkling wine.

A few guests complained about the rooms being stuffy or too warm for their liking. Unfortunately, the rooms do not have air conditioning. However, you may not find that you will ever need it, as the summer highs in Carmel are quite low. Most guests have had no complaints.

L'Auberge has three floors but unfortunately, no elevator. If you have a lot of luggage or trouble with stairs, request one of the ground floor rooms ahead of time or upon check-in.

Several guests thought that the rooms were smaller than they expected and had limited closet space. A few guests also thought the TVs were too tiny to watch comfortably.
