Hotel Kings Arms (Lockerbie, United Kingdom)

The rooms are comfortable and clean and feel like a guest room in an older relative's house. They are very old fashioned but still comfy enough that you can easily forget the dated décor.

The pub grub served up in the restaurant is excellent and has plenty of choices. It's not all the local stuff you'd expect to find with quite a few international dishes on the menu too. Great value for money with large portions for all.

The people that work here are quite friendly and will help out whenever they can. The place can be a little quiet at times, but the warm smiles of the staff and landlord make up for the lack of liveliness.

The entire building seems a bit lifeless, and there aren't many guests or customers around the place. You'll find that it seems more like a place you would stay if you had a meeting to attend nearby and not a place to visit for fun.

Some guests have arrived at this hotel only to find that they had to try very hard to find someone to help them check in. They also found the service in the bar and restaurant suffered because there weren't enough people to carry the workload although they were very friendly.

The rooms although comfortable are quite dated, and you'll be surprised that you have to pay so much for such dated furniture and amenities. Not really worth the money when you can stay somewhere a little more modern for a similar price.
