The 3-Star-Hotel "KATHARINA" is located right in the centre of the historical old town of Sangerhausen. Sangerhausen is known as the city of hills and roses with its EUROPA-Rosarium as the world's biggest rose garden. Furthermore you can find the Spengler-museum, the Ulrich church which was built from 1119 to 1123 being a construction of international importance located right at the road of Romanes. Other interesting sights would be Jakobi church with its leaning church steeple and the historical old market with its patrician houses built in the 15. century still being in really nice shape. Sangerhausen is located right along the Autobahn 38 (A38) with access to A 71 which gives it excellent traffic accessibility. Being an intersection point of two railway-roads, namely Halle-Nordhausen-Kassel leading from east to west and Magdeburg-Erfurt leading from north to south. Sangerhausen offers a convenient starting point concerning day trips to the Harz (Mountain range), the Kyffhäuser (mountain range) with its Kyffhäuser-monument, the storage lake in Kelbra, the panorama museum in Bad Frankenhausen, and the vineyard Saale-Unstrut.
