Situated conveniently close to Termini Station, Kambal B&b B&B is a tiny property offering modern accommodation in the heart of the city. The three rooms are modern, but have a bit of a classical Roman feel to them. Each features newly renovated en-suite bathroom, air conditioning, flat screen TV and dressing table. Rooms are cleaned and serviced daily. Kambal B&b is a tiny B&B, and there are not many public amenities. There is, however, a small guest lounge, and free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property. A small breakfast is served every morning, but for the other meals the hosts will be only too happy to offer you their personal dining recommendations. Termini Station is a convenient seven minute walk from Kambal B&b, while the city’s social heart, the Spanish Steps, are about 1.4 miles away. The Vatican is three miles to the west as is easily reached via metro.
The B&B's location is described as being well within walking distance of Rome's main Termini Station, as well as many of its attractions. Also mentioned was the proximity to a metro station, thus making much more of Rome easily accessible.
The two owners, Elbert and Randy, were described as exceptionally welcoming. Even guests who had issues with the little B&B never failed to point out that the owners did try to address them, and were extraordinarily helpful when it came to offering local recommendations and advice.
While not enormous, many guests described the included breakfast as decent enough. It was served in bed, and was sufficient to get them started for the busy day ahead.
The accommodation is essentially a room in a converted apartment. This arrangement is quite common in Italy, but less so elsewhere. A couple of guests mentioned that it was just a bit too intimate and cosy for their liking. With only two other rooms, it seemed to them like they were more sharing an apartment than staying in a hotel room.
While not described as a major issue, a few guests pointed out that the bathrooms were a bit smaller than they would have liked. Even normal sized people felt a bit awkward trying to manoeuvre around the room.
While not mentioned by many guests, it seems that if others in the building are being a bit loud the noise does travel through to the rooms. It's a bit of the luck of the draw, but light sleepers would be wise to bring along earplugs just in case.
