Hotel Juan Palma (El Arenal, Spain)

There are very few positive views expressed about Juan Palma. About the only significant one is that guests found the owner particularly friendly. Unfortunately, this didn't seem to make up for the many issues guests had with the hotel.

Another very rare positive point was that it was just five minutes from the beach. But very few guests even mentioned this as, for them, the negatives were so overwhelming.

It was mentioned that the area the hotel is in is much quieter than the beachfront promenade, which tends to attract many late night revellers. As such it may be better for families.

Most guests did realise that they paid budget rates for their rooms, and didn't exactly expect the Ritz. They were prepared to accept basic rooms, but they drew the line at a place where the limited furniture and appliances that were in the room where broken and not functional. The bathrooms are especially singled out as having major defects.

A lot of travellers in general don't think highly of hotel breakfasts, but the breakfast here come in for especially harsh criticism. It is described as meagre, and what there is, is often described as inedible. The service staff are also sometimes criticised for having exceptionally poor manners and skills.

The rooms are described as incredibly basic. Essentially a bed and maybe a table and chair, with a mostly broken bathroom attached, In addition, guests mention there is no TV or air conditioning, which seems to be just as well since they don't seem to be comfortable spending any time in the rooms.
