Situated high up in Lisbon’s Belém district, Hotel Jerónimos 8 is a tastefully restored and design-conscious hotel with views toward the 25th of April Bridge. Rooms are individually decorated and make the best use of the natural light streaming in. They feature air conditioning, minibars, flat screen TV’s, safes and tea/coffee stations. Ultra-fast Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel. The ultra-hip lobby lounge features original artwork and sculptures, and is a great place to meet for drinks. Breakfast is available in the chic dining room, and snacks can be ordered throughout the day from the bar. Reception staff can advise on other good dining options in the area. Lisbon’s Jeronimos Monastery is just steps away, as are the beautiful Tropical Botanical Gardens. Further afield, central Lisbon is about four miles to the east. Lisbon’s principal airport is a nine mile drive from Hotel Jerónimos 8.

Though perhaps not easy for all guests, the majority did say that they did not experience problems finding safe free parking in the area immediately surrounding the hotel.
While Jeronimos 8 is not in the centre of Lisbon, it is easy to get to from the hotel. The Belém neighbourhood, in which the hotel is situated, is described as a lovely area with many of its own attractions and good places to eat and drink.
Considering that the hotel specifically advertises fast” Wi-Fi, some guests were not at all impressed to experience slow speeds and variable access throughout the property. They had hoped for better, and experienced a great deal of frustration.
The hotel has a very modern and minimalist feel to it. To some this is trendy and fashionable, but a sizeable minority found it just a bit too bland. They wished there was some more colour, or something else to catch the eye.
Several guests comment that they do not feel that the hotel deserves its four star rating. The level of cleanliness and lack of attention to detail are the most commonly cited reasons.
