About Jagatram Niwas

Jagatram Niwas is a family-run homestay guesthouse in the ancient village of Heini, in the foothills of the Himalayan Dhauladhar range. The guesthouse is situated above Dharamsala, Bhagsu and McLeodganj - the home of the Dalai Lama - and is an ideal base for trekking, excursions, and exploring the locality. The views and natural surroundings are stunning, with diverse flora and fauna, including kites, pheasants, woodpeckers and mongooses. We have a selection of comfortable, stylishly furnished rooms and can offer traditional Himachali home-cooked dinners. The guesthouse is a 15-minute drive up from McLeodganj. The second part of the drive is along a narrow concrete jeep road, and is followed by a five to ten-minute walk from the drop-off point, so please be prepared for some exercise during your stay. Jagatram Niwas is not suitable for guests who wish to be in the centre of town. There are a few shops, cafes and restaurants five to ten minutes' walk away, but the main markets are in Bhagsu, McLeodganj and Dharamkot. Please note that our rooms do not have TVs and that, besides breakfast and evening meals, we do not provide room service. A guest kitchen and wifi are available.
