Those who stayed at Iona Inn found it to be very convenient for city centre and walled old town — around a ten-minute walk — while the train station is even closer.

Spacious redecorated rooms.

Guests considered the redecorated rooms here to be clean, spacious and comfortable, and while not superbly luxurious, they did the trick for a good night’s rest.

The pub next door was found to have great craic, with a roaring fire, friendly locals and of course, the proximity, contributing to the attraction.

Parking not so appealing for some.

A few guests were disappointed to find that the free parking advertised was in a public pay and display car park, and so only free after 5pm.

The showers at Iona Inn have occasionally been reported as tricky to work, or having some problems with hot water, but staff have at least been helpful in resolving these issues.

Some street noise and Wi-Fi quality.

While a small amount of street noise may be experienced, this was found to be fine as long as the windows were kept closed, while the Wi-Fi connection was found to be not very good in parts of the inn.
