Innkeeper's Lodge Ambleside Lake District is a comfortable hotel in the village Ambleside at the heart of the Lake District. The area is easily accessible from the motorway and the hotel offers rooms for groups, couples and families. A recurring comment about this hotel is that the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Previous guests feel that they have received a warm welcome and can rely on the team to make their stay as stress free as possible. Several staff members have been named in reviews for their excellent service and manner.
The adjoining pub is a real draw for visitors. Not only does it provide a convenient place to get good quality food and drink but it also offers entertainment in the form of a weekly quiz night which by all accounts is great fun. There is a beer garden which is a great place to relax after a day of exploring the Lakes.
The hotel is situated just north of Lake Windermere, an ideal spot for sight seeing as well as enjoying the countryside. The on-site parking makes this even more convenient for getting around without being as busy as nearby Windermere. It is centrally located within Ambleside itself so getting around the village on foot is hassle free.
Unfortunately a common complaint about this bed and breakfast is that the water pressure in the bathrooms leaves something to be desired. Running a bath takes some time and the temperature in the showers can fluctuate.
Guests have said that the Wi-Fi signal is weak and sporadic, particularly on the upper floor.
The hotel faces out on to a busy road as well as being located above a pub so there have been comments about the noise levels in the rooms at night. Guests have also had issues with noisy plumbing.
