Hyatt Regency Austin is excellently situated. It is right in the heart of the city on the river and near to the park. There are good walking routes or you can rent a bike and take on the Town Lake Trail. It's also just a few blocks from Sixth Street, where you can find plenty of live music and places to shop and eat. There are also things to do without even having to leave the hotel. The gym is nice, as is the swimming pool.
Many of the guestrooms here deliver a fantastic view of the river and the city. As well as having a fine outlook, they offer comfortable beds and are nicely clean with handy amenities, such as free Wi-Fi and safes.
The staff at this hotel are excellent. They have a very strong knowledge of the area, in terms of where to go and what to do. They are accommodating at all times and really pleasant to deal with.
Hyatt Regency Austin can feel pretty loud at times, in the lobby and bars and also in guestrooms. The soundproofing doesn't appear to be great, so noise really travels. You might hear slamming doors, people talking in hallways and the sound of flushing toilets or running water from the showers.
Meals at this hotel can be quite hit and miss. Breakfast isn't always the best introduction to the day and the prices are rather on the high side as well.
The parking situation isn't the best. For a start there is a surcharge and it can be quite inconvenient and slow.
