For many, the highlight of the day is the bountiful breakfast, which is as substantial as it is delectable. With different items on different days, guests never get bored with the offerings. Made-to-order omelets are almost as fun to watch being prepared as they are delicious to eat.

Travelers familiar with the brand and therefore accustomed to superior standards of service find perfect personnel are true to form throughout. Patient front-of-house staff make checking in and out a breeze, bar tenders are fun and informative, waitstaff are sincere and attentive and housekeepers are discreet and diligent.

One of few recurring complaints comes from light sleepers kept awake by noise. Train tracks run alongside the building, with freight trains passing at half-hourly intervals, day and night. Loud engines and whistles pierce the calm of the evening and ruin the rest of some.

In recent years, the hotel has maintained such standards as to garner a mere handful of negative comments. Among the short list of grumbles are individual tales of cold showers, soft mattresses and slow Wi-Fi, but the isolation of these issues speaks to the excellence generally experienced.
