This property's roadside location just off the intersection of Interstates 95 and 395 was a hit with many visitors who appreciated the easy access to the airport and downtown, both about five minutes' drive away. It was also within striking distance of the popular Acadia National Park along the Maine coast and US-Canada border crossings. Another plus was that there were several dining options and gas stations in the vicinity.

There was lots of praise for the well-equipped and updated rooms which were reportedly more than sufficiently spacious, clean and comfortable for a short stay. The ample free parking was a plus as was the popular on-site restaurant which reportedly offered decent food at reasonable prices. Considering they often paid inexpensive room rates, many guests felt they got decent bang for their buck.

Although many guests said they enjoyed a relatively tranquil stay, some light sleepers blamed thin walls for enabling them to hear noises from neighboring rooms and corridors at times.

Reviewers often said their rooms were clean and in a good state of repair, but a few critics claimed they encountered occasional maintenance issues. These included reports of weak water pressure, slow-draining water and ineffective heating. Cleanliness was usually more than satisfactory, but a few guests reported stained bedding in some rooms.

Lingering smoke smells and pet smells were detected in certain parts of the hotel and were off-putting for some reviewers.
