Tourists like the hotel's location as it is within a short walk of Pike Place Market and the Seattle Center, home of the Space Needle, EMP, and Pacific Science Center. From there, it is easy to catch the monorail to Safeco Field and most of downtown Seattle's many attractions. If you aren't carrying much luggage, you can walk to the hotel from Pier 91. The hotel offers a secure indoor parking garage with keycard entry, and there is also free parking available on the street.

Guests often describe the rooms as spacious and sparkling clean, with comfortable beds and well equipped kitchens. Families and groups love the extra privacy and space of the one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites. Some of the rooms on upper floors offer lovely views of Puget Sound.

The front desk staff have received many rave reviews for their friendly and professional customer service. Compliments also go to the chef: guests are generally pleased with the quality and variety on offer at the complimentary breakfast buffet and evening social.

Guests often note that the building is older and the general impression seems to be that, despite the best efforts of housekeeping and maintenance, the rooms look "tired", with dated furnishings, fabrics, and carpet.
