For past guests of the Hazelwood House, the rooms were typically seen in a positive light. As well as being spacious and featuring comfortable furnishings, the rooms were regarded as spotlessly clean by many.
According to the overall assessment of previous visitors, the breakfast is one of the highlights of the guest house. With both continental and full English breakfast choices available, the food served up by the accommodation was regularly seen to be at a great standard.
Former guests were generally very happy about the service they received when staying at the Hazelwood House. The service provided by the guest house's personnel is said to be attentive, warm and friendly.
According to a number of former visitors, the rooms at the Hazelwood House could benefit from better soundproofing. Along with supposedly being able to hear others staying at the guest house, it was also stated that noise from the nearby traffic and trains can be disruptive.
The Wi-Fi, at least according to those that used the facility in the past, is not one of the strongest features of the guest house. It has been claimed that the accommodation's Wi-Fi can be erratic in terms of its connection quality.
Whilst its location was often seen as convenient for getting around Bridgend and other local areas, the Hazelwood House's position was judged on occasion as not the best overall. In particular, the limited amount of restaurants and nightlife options within walking distance from the guest house has been disappointing.
